A new device to painlessly check for skin cancer is being developed by researchers at Stevens Institute of Technology. This low-cost tool could cut the rate of unnecessary biopsies in half and give front-line doctors easy ways to help diagnose.
“We aren’t trying to get rid of biopsies,” said director of the Bio-Electromagnetics Laboratory at Stevens, Negar Tavassolian. “But we do want to give doctors additional tools and help them to make better decisions.”
