Here's today's feel-good story:

A new innovative light-activated therapy could be useful in detecting and treating aggressive brain cancer. A new study shows that photoimmunotherapy, which combines a special fluorescent dye with a cancer-targeting compound, can boost the body's immune system.

The studies done on mice prove that the treatment improves the visibility of cancer cells during surgery and can trigger an anti-tumor effect when activated by near-infrared light.

An international team of researchers from The Institute of Cancer Research and the Medical University of Silesia hopes that this treatment could help surgeons to remove brain cancers more efficiently.
