Dogs Trained To Smell Patients' Breath To Determine Post-Traumatic Stress

Dogs are being trained to sniff out post-traumatic stress by smelling a patient's breath. So far, the two dogs that have been trained to do so have had 90% accuracy! Scientists hope that this breakthrough in training will help identify PTSD earlier.

“Dogs are currently trained to respond to behavioral and physical cues. Our study showed that some dogs can also detect these episodes via breath.” said study author Laura Kiiroja, of Dalhousie University, Canada,
