Here's today's feel-good story:
A new product made by the Swiss can take a small piece of skin and bioengineer it to be the size of a manhole cover.
The machine, called denovoGraft can be used to help burn victims who have lost a large amount of skin to regrow their skin.
While still in phase II trials, the machine has already been used on a select few people to help with their conditions.
“At the moment we can multiply the surface area of the original sample by a factor of 100, and we’re aiming eventually for a factor of 500,” said Daniela Marino, co-founder and director of denovoGraft’s developers.
