Here's today's feel-good story:
Hand-written, personalized notes to help potential dog adopters get to know their potential pups were the idea of Kensey Jones, a second-grade teacher at St. Michael’s Episcopal church in Richmond, Virginia. She also volunteers at Richmond Animal Care and Control and needed to come up with a writing assignment idea.
Her hope was that writing notes on behalf of the dogs that are up for adoption would help boost adoption rates.
“The idea just came to me to connect persuasive writing with these adoptable pets that need a forever home,” Jones said, adding that it was “a way that I could make their writing real for [the students], and actually make an impact on the world and our Richmond community.”
