Here's today's feel-good story:
According to new research, you can boost your health just as much by being a "weekend warrior" as you can with daily exercise.
Those who cram in activities during the weekend can lower their risk of premature death as much as anyone who spreads out their exercise during the week.
The study is based on over 350,000 U.S. adults of 18 to 64-year-olds. "Out of almost 22,000 deaths, there were 8 and 15 percent fewer in weekend warriors and regularly active individuals, respectively."
“We found they had similar all-cause and cause-specific mortality, suggesting when performing the same amount of physical activity, spreading it over more days or concentrating it into fewer days may not influence outcomes,” said Professor Yafeng Wang, of Jiangnan University, China, and author of the study.
