Here's today's feel-good story:
A new survey shows that more than half of adults would welcome receiving a pre-owned gift this Christmas.
The poll of 2,000 people who celebrate the holiday showed that 19% expected to get a second-hand gift this year, with 29% expecting the practice to become more common.
58% of people would feel positive about unwrapping a pre-owned item and 46% say they would happily give one.
“As a nation, we’re becoming more conscious consumers and it’s exciting to see so many people are open to shopping for nearly-new products,” said John Boumphrey, a UK manager at Amazon. “Pre-owned doesn’t have to mean worn or outdated, often products have simply been unboxed but still work as good as new."
