Disneyland Launches Secret 'Chewie Mode' On Smugglers Run In Galaxy’s Edge

The line for Smugglers Run is about to get long because Disneyland officials confirm that ‘Chewie Mode’ is now available on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The website freshbakeddisney.com says the hack is similar to a cheat code on a video game console: If guests activate the cockpit controls in a certain order, they get a different experience on the ride.

The “Chewie Mode” on the Smugglers Run flight simulator replaces instructions from space pirate Hondo Ohnaka with a new Easter Egg version of the ride filled with Chewbacca roaring at riders for 5 minutes in the Wookiee dialect of Shyriiwook.

This is the only secret mode available for the ride.

So here is how to launch “Chewie Mode” on Smugglers Run, according to Fresh Baked:

Step 1: Do not immediately activate any of the pilot, gunner or engineer positions as your flight crew enters the Millennium Falcon cockpit.

Step 2: Pilots must first push their flight controls in one direction or the other before hitting the orange activation button. The pilot in the front left seat must push the controls left or right before hitting the activation button. The pilot in the front right seat must push the control up or down before hitting the activation button.

Step 3: The gunners and engineers must press and hold down a white button at their console before hitting the orange activation button. Think of it like holding the shift key down on a keyboard to make a capital letter.

All three steps must be completed before the Disneyland cast member finishes the safety inspection in the cockpit and checks all riders seatbelts.
