Colored-Smoke Gender Reveal Leads To Driver In Trouble With Police

If you are expecting a baby - first of all, congratulations!

Second of all, think very far ahead when deciding on exactly how you want to do the gender reveal (if you want to do one at all, you don't have to!)

One family has found themselves in hot water with the police after using their car, and colored smoke, to reveal the gender of their new family member. And now they are in the market for a new car to bring that baby home in.

An Australian did a burnout that created blue smoke to reveal the gender of the baby he and his wife were expecting - he thought it was cool, clearly, and ultimately a video of it was posted online by onlookers. Andddd then his car was confiscated after police obtained the video of him doing just that.

Investigators found the video of the burnout reveal on social media. It showed the modified Ford Falcon sedan doing donuts in the middle of a cul-de-sac as several people stood close by... oops.

Apparently, the couple warned neighbors of the event and even invited them out to learn the gender of their baby. But it allegedly shocked onlookers who were the ones who took and posted the video online.

Now, the driver is facing two counts of aggravated burnout, while three other people were charged in connection to the incident.

Australia is known for having some of the strictest "anti-hooning" laws in the world.

Safe to say all expecting parents can learn a lesson from this soon to be dad... if you're considering a reveal that could in any way be seen as illegal, maybe just avoid it at all cost.

For me, we kept it pretty simple and shot confetti out of a confetti popper! Better safe than sorry with a little one on the way, right?
