Shark Week got a touch of ADORABLE thanks to one hospital in Cincinnati.
Instead of the traditional, more basic, onesies that the hospital would typically provide for a newborn, during Discovery Channel's annual Shark Week - which this year is THIS week, July 28th-August 3rd - every newborn was given a special "baby shark" onesie.
Not only are the infants given the cutest onesie, but the Newport Aquarium, located in Kentucky, will give two free adult tickets to the lucky parents of the shark-styled baby.
I mean, how perfect. The parents can take their newborn baby to the aquarium once the little one is a bit older to get out of the house. Because allll us parents know how you end up pretty much shut in to the house for the first couple weeks/months.
A senior marketing consultant for the Cincinnati hospital, The Chris Hospital Health Network, told CNN that the hospital typically gives out onesies during a holiday, and Shark Week was no exception.
“We typically pick a holiday in a specific month and give out onesies on that day or the weekend of the holiday,” McMillan explained. “This is the first time we’ve done it for a full week.”
Now I'm kind of wishing my twins had been born during one of these selected holidays and gotten special onesies! They're so cute.
As for Shark Week - the 7 day celebration which also has proven to make people much more afraid of getting in the water - will end this Saturday night to wrap up the 31st annual shark week.
This year, the Discovery Channel also featured their FIRST scripted feature-length film, Capsized: Blood in the Water, which stars Josh Duhamel and Tyler Blackburn and is based on a real life shark attack that happened in 1982.
