Yes, Even Kate Middleton Experiences Mom Guilt

Kate Middleton, she's just like us!

But actually... Kate Middleton just revealed something that made me realize all moms, no matter how different their experiences, are pretty equal when it comes to the basics of it all. Because yes, even Kate, aka Prince William's wife and Duchess of Cambridge experiences what she calls "mummy guilt."

Kate appeared on podcast 'Happy Mum, Happy Baby' where she explained the feeling of guilt that comes with being a mom - and actually claimed that any mom who says they don't experience that, isn't telling the truth.

When asked if she experiences mom guilt she simply responded:

"Yes absolutely, and anyone who doesn't as a mother is actually lying. Yes, all the time."

Kate - the mom of Prince George (6), Princess Charlotte (4) and Prince Louis (1) - describes herself as a "hands on mum" and says she often worries she falls short with the expectations of being a mom.

"There's such a pull, but I am such a hands-on mum, and whatever you're doing you want to make sure you're doing the uttermost best job you can for your children."

Kate also got very real about how difficult of a time she had with being pregnant, and the way William felt he could not be of much help.

She experienced severe morning sickness and felt it wasn't just hard for her, but also for those around: "Lots of people have it far, far worse, but it was definitely a challenge. Not just for me but also for your loved ones around you."

Kate also explained how, "William didn't feel he could do much to help and it's hard for everyone to see you suffering without actually being able to do anything about it."

I definitely remember when I was FAR into my pregnancy with the twins, I was so thankful that my husband Michael would make sure I was eating the right things and being taken care of, but when it came to the amount of pain I was in while trying to sleep... there wasn't much anyone could do about that! I just had to try to get the right pillows wedged under my stomach and hope I fell asleep.

While I don't wish mom guilt or difficult pregnancies on anyone, it is refreshing to know that Kate Middleton - who appears to be perfect and have a perfect life - doesn't always have it so perfectly. Her being honest about it all is such a relief, as well.

Moms, we aren't alone! In fact, we're ALL in this together.
