There is just something SO special about father/daughter relationships, and seeing sweet things dads do for their daughters has just made me more and more emotional after having a daughter of my own and seeing the way my husband is with her.
So it's no surprise that this video of a dad talking to his daughter through their Ring doorbell camera every time he comes home made me kind of lose it.
The dad, Colin Brand, lives in Pennsylvania and recently realized that his youngest daughter Emily Brand, who is 23-years-old and just finished pharmacy school, was getting notifications from the Ring doorbell app whenever he was coming and going from the house.
SO, instead of changing the app settings and keeping Emily from getting the notifications, Colin decided he would use the doorbell camera as a way to communicate with his daughter while she was away at school.
Emily ended up saving the videos of him talking to her and put them all together and uploaded the full video to - of course - TikTok.
Emily admits that she downloaded the app when she was home at one point and then when she went back to school she started checking the app daily just to see what was going on at home because she is "nosey."
But turns out being nosey paid off, because she got this sweet video:
When Emily put the videos together, she asked her dad if she could post them on social media for other people to see, and at first Colin didn't want her to! He figured no one wanted to watch his little moments of "Hey Em" and short updates of what he was up to, but boy was he wrong.
That video now has over 867k likes and 13k comments.
Colin, we LOVED getting to see these sweet moments. When my kids get older I am absolutely going to remember this video and find new ways to stay in touch with them when things are busy or they're away at school.
