My biological mother passed when I was four years old. As she set out on the next phase of her cosmic journey, years later, my father remarried. THIS woman became my mother and fully loved me like her very own. A teacher by trade, the lessons I learned growing up as her son, to this day prove to be invaluable.
Although often in forms that are overlooked and consequently unappreciated, no one and nothing is ever TRULY missing in our lives... IF we are willing to look wide, deep and close.
So today I share my love and gratitude for both of my moms. How fortunate am I? Happy Mother's Day to you both. My heart overflows with love and gratitude for you.
Oh and the idea to pursue radio as a career? Yeah... that came from my second mom as well as that possibility certainly wasn't in my awareness as a teenager. I'm immeasurably grateful as I, quite literally, couldn't and wouldn't have done it without her.
