Here's today's feel-good story:
Scientists in Germany have found that meditation training does reduce long-term stress, according to hair analysis.
Cortisol, a stress hormone, can be found in hair and can provide useful information about how much a person is burdened by persistent stress.
According to this study, 23% of people in Germany suffer from stress frequently. This can also be linked to several psychological diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and depression.
“If you are asked whether you are stressed after a training session that is declared as stress-reducing, even addressing this question can distort the statements,” explains Lara Puhlmann, doctoral student at MPI CBS and first author of the study.
