The Weeknd Might Be Releasing A New Song About Ex Selena Gomez

The Weeknd has reportedly registered a song that may or may not be about ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.

According to Entertainment Tonight Canada, it appears the Canadian crooner recently registered the song title “Like Selena” on the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers website on Monday (November 25). The record’s name, as any fan of Gomez might speculate, more or less seems inspired by the former Disney child star, who once dated R&B artist in the past.

You can recall, the “Look at Her Now” pop star was romantically linked to the “Starboy” musician in January 2017 before calling it quits later that year. Throughout their romance, it was alleged that Gomez and The Weeknd had temporarily moved in together in Greenwich Village, New York, the following September 2017. They were broken up the following month.

Prior to Selena, the “Earned It” star had previously been in a relationship with model Bella Hadid that first started at the beginning of 2015. Months after making their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2016 Grammy Awards, The Weeknd and Hadid pulled the plug on their relationship in November 2016, citing conflicting schedules as the cause for their breakup. The exes would reconcile two years later, in May 2018, only to split for a second time this past August.

This all comes as the 29-year-old plots his music comeback as he teased his upcoming project via Instagram. “The fall starts tomorrow night,” The Weeknd wrote along with a blurry black-and-white picture. “Tomorrow night we start again,” he wrote with the same image on his Instagram Story. As yet, it’s said he'll be releasing two new songs, “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless.”
