Sydney Sweeney is clapping back at the "preconceived notion" that she relies on her fiancé Jonathan Davino to pay her bills just because he's older.

In a new interview with Glamour published Thursday (October 3), the 27-year-old actress said she wanted to "set the record straight" on her relationship with her 40-year-old beau, whom has been with since 2018 and engaged to since 2022, specifically calling out rumors that he is the one in the relationship that pays for everything just because he is 13 years older than her, per Page Six. The Immaculate star also clarified that Davino is "not a financial backer" for her production company, Fifty-Fifty Films.

"I'm a very successful, independent woman who's worked really hard," she said.

Sweeney, who has made a name for herself in Hollywood with her roles in TV shows like Euphoria and films like Anyone But You, went on to explain how she financially provides for her and her family herself, even sharing how she helped pay off her mother's mortgage, buy her uncle his "dream boat" and fly her grandparents to Italy. "I've accomplished and bought everything myself, and I provide for myself and my family."

The Madame Web actress emphasized how she doesn't need a man in order to be successful, saying that she and her longtime partner are "teammates."

"You can be in a healthy relationship with someone and also be very successful without needing the man," she said, adding of her fiancé, "We're teammates. We're in it together. And we want to see each other succeed."
