Here's today's feel-good story:
In a close-knit Maine community, a group of teenagers faced the decision to either see the world on a trip after graduation or stay home and focus their energy there.
Students at the islands of Isleboro's Central School traditionally hold fundraising to send the students on a big trip at the end of their final semester to destinations such as Paris, Norway, Iceland, and Panama.
Due to the pandemic, the students of 2021 decided to invest the $8,000 they raised back into their community instead of traveling.
“We could really see how the whole world and the island, too, was struggling,” 18-year-old Liefe Temple said. “So it felt really good to do that with our money—to give it back to the people who gave it to us.”
