Here's today's feel-good story:
According to new research, singing lullabies can not only help to improve the health of premature babies during intensive care but also helps the anxious family as well.
Gentle music therapy can slow down the heart rate of a prematurely delivered infant as well as help them eat and sleep better.
Even just some rhythmic strings or humming can go a long way in helping therapeutic or care procedures.
“A moment of music can create an intimate atmosphere where the parents can forget about treatments, tubes, and machines and put their entire focus on their baby and truly see them." Taru Koivisto, a doctoral student at UniArts in Helsinki said. "For the parents, music was a sign of life from outside of the hospital and helped them understand that life will carry on even in hard times,” Koivisto says.
