Here's today's feel-good story:
Researchers say that a small act of kindness can go a long way toward helping the health and wellness of students.
Doctors John-Tyler Binfet and Sally Stewart at the University of British Columbia have published a recent study that shows that including kindness in one's day impacts student's perceptions of themselves, their peers, and their campus.
With thousands of students returning to campuses and living in the times of COVID, every act of kindness, no matter how small, can go a long way.
“We know being kind yields a number of wellbeing benefits, such as stress reduction, happiness and peer acceptance, and we know mental health impacts learning,” says Dr. Binfet.
“The post-secondary environment is often the last training ground to prepare students for life so we want to understand how we can prepare students for optimal mental health as adults.”
