Here's Today's Feel-Good Story:
A study has found that the bare minimum of physical activity needed to prevent the harmful effects of sitting for too long is 5 minutes every half an hour.
This movement was determined by scientists after looking at blood sugar levels and blood pressure, two important metrics of heart disease.
“We found that a 5-minute light walk every half-hour was the only strategy that reduced blood sugar levels substantially compared with sitting all day,” said Keith Diaz in a new study published in Medicine Science in Sports and Exercise.
