Here's Today's Feel-Good Story:
Farmers markets are getting more popular in the US since the pandemic, and an official "Farmers Market Week" was created to celebrate.
30 years ago, there were fewer than 2,000 open farmers markets in the country and today there are more than 8,600 that are currently registered.
“The benefit to shopping at a farmers market is that it’s directly from the farm and so they’re not going to see the same type of supply chain issues (grocery stores have),” Chicago's Green City Market organizer Taylor Choy told AP. “In fact, I’ve seen the cost of eggs at a grocery store increase, but then the price of our eggs at our market stayed the same.”
