When Alicia and Andrew Alderson adopted Annabel, a 3-legged American pit bull, in 2017, they didn't realize that her struggles wouldn't just be her legs. They discovered a large growth on her left leg that was cancerous. Surgery was ruled out, but luckily a drug recently approved by the FDA was a perfect fit.
“It’s really cool for cases like hers when surgery is not an option,” Dr. Emily Moser, at Town and Country Veterinarians and Pet Resort in Gainesville, said.
